Not Exactly the Brightest Future Space Teens in the Universe

From the story "Collossal Boy's One-Man War" (in which, oddly enough, nothing remotely resembling that title actually happens), Edmond Hamilton and Curt Swan bring us this bit of insight into the same thought process that picked Matter Eater Lad for membership over, say, Polar Boy. Or anyone else, for that matter:

TriplicateGirl

I know how you feel, Brainy. If only Triplicate Girl was still alive! If only she was, oh, I don't know, standing right there next to Ultra Boy.

Yeah yeah, I know that's supposed to be Phantom Girl and she just got miscolored, but c'mon: It's a lot more fun this way.

Was Phantom Girl even in that story? Anyway, they're no doubt referring to Triplicate Girl's third body, who got toasted fighting Computo. And that's not Triplicate Girl there, that's Duo Damsel.

What, you think I don't actually read these things before I start typing?

That scene takes place immediately after Computo fries one of Triplicate Girl's bodies, and about two pages before the other two show up and announce that nobody should worry about it. And when she does show up and announce that she's Duo Damsel now, everyone's pretty shocked to find her alive and (relatively) well.

Especially, as it turns out, Phantom Girl, who gives her a big relieved hug right there in panel four right after Superboy tells her that she missed her own funeral.

It's pages three to five of the story, or if you've got the archive, pages 41 to 43.

Has Chameleon Boy just come from the shower and forgot to rinse off the foam? Or is he just a little self conscious of his baldness and so Proty is pretending to be a (white) wig?

Or is it just snowing outside?

Proty is either trying to eat Chameleon Boy's head, or is... um... full-skucking him.

I vote it's the latter

It kind of looks like Ultra Boy is leaning over to whisper something in reference to Brainiac.

Perhaps,"Jeez, what a pussy."

That's it. This calls for a full review of Adventure Comics #341, delivered in the mildly magnificent ISB style. Look for it Friday night.

Who is Proty, and why is a tiny humanoid made of cottage cheese trying to hump Chameleon in the ear?

I totally hate it when one of the dumb legionnaires points the giant finger of accusing at Brainaic and complains about how one of his super awesome inventions went awry.

If they didn't have Brainaic, they'd be living in a cardboard box and eating with their hands. If you're primary contribution to the legion is lifting heavy shit and punching things, you should NEVER talk that way to the Brain.
